About Us
Neodocs
Neodocs, a Mumbai-based healthtech startup founded in 2020 by IIT Bombay alumni Nikunj Malpani, Anurag Meena, and Pratik Lodha, specializes in smartphone-based diagnostic test kits. Their innovative approach utilizes chemical reagents on test cards that, when exposed to a sample, induce color changes. These changes are then analyzed using a smartphone’s camera, allowing for instant results without the need for traditional laboratory equipment.
The company’s product lineup includes the Kidney Care Kit, which measures the urine albumin-creatinine ratio along with 14 other parameters to detect early signs of chronic kidney disease, and the UTI Care Kit, which screens for urinary tract infections by analyzing 10 parameters. These kits are designed for ease of use, requiring users to dip the test card into a urine sample for 1-2 seconds, after which the smartphone application processes the results.
In February 2024, Neodocs raised Rs 16.6 crore ($2 million) in a seed funding round led by Omidyar Network India, with participation from Y Combinator, 9Unicorns, Gemba Capital, Titan Capital, and notable angel investors such as Kunal Shah (Cred), Varun Alagh (Mamaearth), and Vivek Gambhir (Boat). The startup plans to utilize these funds to expand into international markets, including Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and the Americas. Additionally, Neodocs is developing instant finger-prick blood tests that will provide results directly on smartphones.
To date, Neodocs has sold over 200,000 test cards and is utilized by more than 4,000 doctors across India. The company collaborates with major pharmaceutical firms such as Cipla, Eris, Sun Pharma, AstraZeneca, Bayer, and RPG Life Sciences. It is also working with the governments of Maharashtra and Rajasthan to digitize testing services in remote areas.
Looking ahead, Neodocs aims to conduct 100 million tests in the next three years, a significant increase from the 250,000 tests conducted since its inception. The company plans to achieve this by investing in existing channels in India, developing new tests, and expanding internationally. Future test offerings are expected to cover areas such as lipid profiles, diabetes, liver function, fertility issues, hair loss, eye care, and anemia.
By leveraging smartphone technology, Neodocs is making diagnostics more accessible, affordable, and proactive, empowering individuals to monitor their health conveniently.
We started Neodocs during the pandemic, since we’re extremely optimistic about the future of health. Most of our healthcare ecosystem is focused towards diseases and sickness, but what about proactive measures to make us feel better?
Neodocs has created a revolutionary approach to help people understand and optimize their health through at-home assessment, personalized actions, and ongoing progress monitoring. And through this, we’re unlocking a world where everyone can feel, perform, and live better.
After all, if we can identify what’s holding us back, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.
